Summary:

The Commercial/Large Account and Technical Sales Director - Merchant Services is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth for the company's vertical solution set as well as managing and growing large accounts that require a high touch service level. Additionally responsible for managing and growing the sales pipeline for multiple industry verticals and devising and implementing go-to-market strategies. Also responsible for managing the team of technical sales/Solution Consultants who provide expertise in payment solutions, sell into the large accounts, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a technical-minded sales/solutioning team, offering expertise in Payments, especially accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP), and payments automation solutions. Also, lead a team of account managers who support large customer relationships with heavy focus on solutioning, servicing and cross-selling to their assigned customers.

  • Develop and execute on go-to-market strategies for the vertical solution set, including identifying target markets, developing sales messaging, and creating marketing materials.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop, drive, and execute on specific go-to-market business development strategies.

  • Grow and manage the sales pipeline for multiple industry verticals, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and managing opportunities through the sales cycle.

  • Build efficient and effective sales practices across the sales organization and the entire Solution Consultant team. Be the voice of customer, market, and competitive trends.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to sales representatives on the vertical solutions.

  • Work with channel partners to deliver on shared goals.

  • Partner with Sales and Product Management to develop sales tools and training materials.

  • Assist with responses to requests for proposals (RFP’s).

  • Develop and implement sales playbook to retain and grow large accounts.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of 12 years of proven success in a sale and solutioning leadership role, specifically in Merchant/AR/AP space, targeting mid-market firms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute on go-to-market strategies for mid-market firms. Ability to build effective relationships with end users and decision makers in mid-market and large corporate companies.

  • Ability to understand vertical needs and map solutions to fit the needs.

  • Strong expertise in gateway and vertical solutions with a deep expertise in AR & AP needs and selling solutions that fit the need.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to translate technical information to a general audience.

  • Ability to think strategically and develop effective sales plans and incentive structure.

  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven success within pre-sales or implementation of payment solutions.

  • Prior banking experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of various software programs including Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn additional systems/software.

Compensation Range:

$180,000 - $205,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
